The details that make a boutique hotel

Hôtel de Buci is a 24-room boutique hotel, tucked away on Rue de Buci in the centre of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, close to our Paris showroom.

Paul Salas, an interior designer and co-founder of Studio CMPS, specialises in high-end hotels. When he set to work on Hôtel de Buci, he wanted to give it a true sense of flow and harmony.

Today, it’s the relaxing refuge in the French capital that he pictured.

‘With smaller, boutique hotels, we try to give them a very strong sense of identity,’ Paul tells us.

‘It’s important when working in spaces that are relatively tight to have a finish that’s consistent and continuous across all the objects that punctuate the space.

‘The electrical fittings, the spotlights, the door and furniture handles are important details.’
